Privacy Policy
Inplay is an educational baseball application for youth players, families, and clubs. We prioritize privacy and digital safety above all else.
What we DO NOT collect
- We do not ask for or collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or other direct personally identifiable information (PII).
- We do not use advertising SDKs or sell data to advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else.
What we DO collect
To make the app function and to improve it, we use anonymous infrastructure:
- Anonymous Authentication: When you open Inplay, our server (Firebase) generates a random, anonymous ID. This allows us to serve you daily puzzles and prevent abuse (like bots guessing all the answers), without knowing who you are.
- Product Analytics (Firebase Analytics / Google Analytics 4): We collect anonymous, aggregated usage events — such as choosing a position, starting a challenge, answering a puzzle, and completing the daily set — together with a device-level app-instance identifier and coarse location derived from your IP address. This helps us understand how the app is used and improve it. It is not used for advertising and is never linked to your name or email.
- Local Storage: We store your "Daily Practice Streak" locally on your device using browser LocalStorage. This data never leaves your device.
- Aggregated Server Logs: We monitor server performance (e.g., "How many puzzles were solved today?") to keep our servers running smoothly. This data is strictly aggregated and cannot be traced back to an individual user.
- Security Checks: We use anti-abuse measures (App Check) to verify that requests are coming from a genuine browser, protecting our service from automated attacks.
Children's Privacy
Inplay is designed for youth baseball players and their families and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we never ask for a name, email address, or phone number. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this Policy
If we introduce optional features in the future that require an account (like Coach/Team assignments for parents to manage), we will update this policy and provide explicit parental consent flows.
